Exclusive Screens of Unreal Powered iPhone Game Flashbike Arena

Two Gear, a brand new iOS development studio have sent us a boatload of information about their debut title, Flashbike Arena. The game has been created using the Unreal Engine, and indeed, the team won a few awards at the 2009 ‘Make Something Unreal’ contest so the graphics are looking very good.

obviously inspired by the light bike sequences in ‘Tron’ the title is a light bike style game but viewed from a third person perspective. The game has a very sleek and smooth look, and although the style is minimalistic, it looks like some of the best graphics we have seen for a while.

The game will be compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch 3rd and 4th Generation (except for 8 GB 3rd generation devices), and is single player only, but will feature Game Center support.

There are a few advanced techniques used, such as shaders and rigid body physics, and we really like the overall look of the game. Lets hope the game plays as well as it looks.

In the words of the developer:

“Flashbike Arena is a single player arcade style racing battle where players control a futuristic motorbike, a “flashbike”, which leaves a colored wall in its wake. Points are earned by causing enemies to crash into their own or the Player’s wall. Additional points and multipliers can be earned by collecting the “energy cores” left behind as the wreckage of a crashed bike. It’s these cores that power the bikes and generate their walls.”

Sounds good, and let the trailer below whet your appetite while you wait for our full review, due when the game is released later in the summer.
